bbm upgrade

Hi,

I recently tried to download the new version of bbm for my curve 9300 but everytime the dowload finishes a message pops up saying " the backup file is corrupted. Create another backup file or try another restore point". how can I fix this

Thanks for the question.

 

When you perform the BBM update, do you lose all your BBM contacts?  Also are you using BBM 7 now?  If so, the backups will be saved to your BlackBerry ID.

Yes I do. After I ignore the error message and accept the agreement it says that it's "setting up bbm", but nothing happens (it literally stays like that for hours until i just exit the screen). I tried deleting it and downloading it again but I keep getting the same error message. So I basically have no bbm right now.

Thanks for the reply.

 

I suggest connecting to a Wi-Fi network and then proceed with the setup for BBM.  This issue can happen if you're having poor data coverage.

That's what I have been using because my data service is down. So I'm getting the problem when I use wifi.
