Re: bing web browser says no network connection. Please Help!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app

2) Resend Service Books (pre-BB10 devices only)

  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

3) Reboot

  • With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
  • See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

Good luck!

Re: bing web browser says no network connection. Please Help!

Before I posted the question, I already registered with mobile network, did a hard reboot, I have full signal, but I don't know how to resend service books. The phone also keeps changing to hong cong time, I am not in hong cong, I'm in california, also, every time it starts it says uncaught java exeption error. What else can I do?

Does it think you're in Hong Kong?

On your Manage Connections screen, click on the Services Status.
What is the status of the BlackBerry Internet Service?

And, for one more bit of clarity...you say "bing web browser"...do you mean a browser other than the native BB Browser? Or do you mean that you are using the native browser, but with BING as the default search engine?

Well now that certainly is new information. Perhaps you should start over, and provide complete and exact details of what is going on. Dribbling out the details like this is terribly inefficient, don't you think?

Re: bing web browser says no network connection. Please Help!

Ok, this is what happend step by step. I decided to check for a wireless update,5.0.0.973 was avaliable. I clicked download, for about a minute I lost signal, I moved to get signal. The update started everything was normal, the phone restarted and then a message came up ''uncaught java exeption error. Then I went to bing to reserch what is meant. Then bing said no network connection and the phone froze up. I pulled the battery out, rebooted, then again the warning came up, then the phone said changing default time zone to -8 hong kong. I switched back to pacific time and after about a minute it changes again.
