Go to the Blackberry ID site http://us.blackberry.com/bbid.html
On the right side of the page you will see the login and create an account prompts. See if you can log in.
I believe some time ago the password policy was changed where a sort of complicated passord is required. An example would be Mynamez7 for a password that is considered complicated. If I remember right they want a minimum of 8 characters with at least one capital letter and one number. I had this issue with a 9900 and a 9800. I had to change the password to one that uses the same type of format as what I indicated. The email adddress wich is the name of the account must also be valid.

Also, while I'm not finding the KB, I recall one where the fix was to remove the actual ID app from the BB:
Then reboot the BB and start over, which should install a fresh copy of the ID app, allowing you to finally continue.
