My BBM and email (gmail) is not working on my BB since past 12 hours in the Wifi hotzone. However, the browser is working and I can access google and other internet sites. Kindly note that I am not subscribing to data services through the service provider since past six months but have been using the BBM and gmail synchronization services so far. It is only since the last 12 hours that I am unable to use these. Can you suggest what is wrong and how it can be fixed.
The proprietary BB services (native email via Messages, BBM, etc.) require subscription to an adequate data plan from a carrier in order to activate those services, regardless of the communication channel (e.g., WiFi versus carrier data network) that is used to access those services.
From what you describe, I think you've had a very lucky 6 months. But, finally, your carrier has caught up with you and halted your use of those services for which you were not paying.
