blackberry desktop manager

i just purchased a new blackberry curve and am trying to connect it to my computer. i installed the desktop manager software and every time i try to run the software i get a message that the device is not connected or the device is not found. can anyone help? thank you.

Have you changed your connection settings?  I had to do this when I first connected.  Under OPTIONS click on CONNECTION SETTINGS.  Then there is a drop down box for connection.  I had to select the USB-PIN:xxxxxxx.  This would be your PIN number.  It is defalted to select NONE.  Hope tis helps.

thank you. but how and where am i able to input my PIN? I am not able to input any such thing.

I did not have to input my pin.  It was already in the drop down box.  I just had to select it.  Sorry I could not be more help.
