blackberry email associated to my email account

Hallo everyone, and first of all thsnk you for your time.

I am trying to change the password for my blackberryid, but the point here is that my blackberryid, which in fact is my email adress is wrong. The device is telling me that the blackberryid is xxxxxxx@hotmail.ccom with a double cc, so for me it is not possible at all to receive the new password in that email just because it does not exist.

Of course i know the answer to the secret question, but after that, i am suppose to be receiving the right new password to that non existing email account.

After this bornig summary, here goes my question:

Is there any possibility to change the blackberrid without knowing the password?

Thank you again.

Luis.

Re: blackberry email associated to my email account

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

If you have already started the password reset process, it may be too late for this:

  • KB32514 How to change or update a BlackBerry ID username on a BlackBerry smartphone

If indeed it is too late, then you are stuck, and require human intervention to clear the error originally made when creating the BB ID...but, first you have a choice to make.

If you have no records that you require to retain (e.g., AppWorld purchase records for apps, BBM7 Contacts Backup, etc.), then simply abandon the BB ID and create a new one. To do so, however, does require a device WIPE:

  • KB26694 How to change the BlackBerry ID on a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet or BlackBerry smartphone

But if you do have records that you must keep, then you require human intervention. To receive that, you must ring up your mobile service provider and convince them to escalate your case up to BlackBerry. Further, you must convince BlackBerry to provide you with a solution -- which likely will either be resetting your current BB ID (so that you can again access it) or having you create a new BBID (and they will manually move your purchase records over). Note that I have no idea if they will be willing to do this, but there is no other way that I know of to retain your prior records.

Good luck!
