bankz8, there has been this week a widespread RIM data outage across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North America, India and Latin America. Major.
While most all service has been restored, there ARE lingering data delays, and moreso with less priority matter like status updates on BBM (while email delivery was prioritized). RIM has been working 'round the clock to get it all up and running as before, to normal service levels.
So, my advice for now,... is be patient, wait a couple days.
For now, Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
