blackberry problem

hi

 i have BB curve 8520.. recently i download aap for quick text from apps world and after that my blackberry button where the sign BB is made got mad.. it didnot work only help me out in opening the menu.. n nothing else.. please tel me sooon what happens to my phone???? is there any softwear problem r any other... and also tel me the solution please...

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.

i did it.. but it is not  working... my system got healed when i hold that button.. until i repress that button.. by pressing; nothing is showing on the phone.. like before in masseges folder i press that button n inbox n different foders showed.. but now nothing is happening.. this button just helping me to in go to the main manu.. i also try del that app but i didnt show that bar in which del option is given... bcz that button is not working on any other commond..

I'm sorry, I do not understand. Were you able to get into Safe Mode or not? If so, then what you would do is remove the app you installed just before this problem started. But from your post, I cannot tell if you were able to get into Safe Mode or not...note that I did say it may take you several tries to find the proper sequence to get your BB into Safe Mode.

 

Also, if after you succeed in getting into Safe Mode and removing the app, then when you reboot into normal mode, if the problem continues, then there will be more drastic steps you will need to attempt.

 

Another thought -- is there any chance that this BB has become wet in any way? Moisture intrusion into a BB can cause strange behaviors such as this, and the timing of having installed that app may be mere coincidence...

no i were not able to get into safe mode yet.. yeah i m trying.. i hope so i'll get it soon.. Smiley Sad no i dont think so that any drop of water enters in it.. if it happens then button should not work from the initially.. but as i told u before it works aid me to enter in menu.. but not furthure more...

Yes, do keep trying, as it is the least drastic method of attempting to cure this problem.

Actually, the results from water intrusion are completely unpredictable...any result at all could be expected, including that which you have. But, at this internet distance, there's no way to truly diagnose that.

I have no way to know if it will solve the problem or not...remember that I'm at an internet distance, and have only your words here to guide me as to what the problem might be. Plus, if you can't use that key, how will you perform an on-device WIPE anyway?
