blackberry protect

since one week ago, i had a Blackberry curve 9300. the main problem is that
altough i keep having it, one crash left the mobile's screen totally
broken. i've been using blackberry protect all this time, in case something
like this could happen. My question is about how can i transfer all the
information, as contacts and messages, that are uploaded in my blackberry
protect's website, where all the security copies have been saved. However,
i don't know how can this information be shown or if i can download it in
my computer in order to send it to my new mobile, which isn't a Blackberry,
fact i which difficults a lot the process I think. I need a solution cause
lots of my main costumers and conctats are there saved, so please let me
know the faster as you can a way of getting access to my OWN information.

thanks for all,

Re: blackberry protect

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

I am sorry to say that I have bad news for you. If you were only relying on BB Protect, you were only protected for recovery to another BlackBerry device (and, even then, a non-BB10 one!). The data on BB Protect is solely available for use as the source to restore to a BlackBerry device...there are no tricks by which to extract it and otherwise use it.

Even though it's too late, this information could have helped you:

By using that procedure, you would have had your data also backed up to your computer, and would have been able to use some "tricks" to extract it from the proprietary-format backup files into a "human readable" format. But such tricks only exist for the Desktop Software conducted backups...not for those conducted via BB Protect.

I am sorry for your loss.

One thing you could perhaps try is obtaining temporary use of a BB...restore from BB Protect to it, then use the Desktop Software methods to extract your data to a PC, where you indeed could do what you need.

Good luck!
