i recently have a problem. when i wanna write an sms, i have teh character counter set to 70 instead of the standard 160! now this wasn't the case before. whenever i was using English, it was 160. when i switch to Arabic, it becomes 70, which is normal. now even when i wanna write in English, it is 70. i have tried to change the imput language, i have also tried a battery pullout, and nothing is working. can you please help???
i have a blackberry cueve 9300.

You have changed the input language, but what about the actual device language?

everything is in English. it always has been. i never changed the device language. it is just eth input language that i someetimes change when i wasnt to write in Arabic. usually, when i changed back to English, it adjusted to 160 character. now it is not.

i tripped over the solution in another blog and it worked:
In a SMS, type menu key then Options, scroll to the SMS part. In encoding, select 7bit instead of UCS2, then save. That should do it for a 160 characters SMS.
