You could install a program called BeamBerry which will allow you to save attachments from e-mail to your microSD memory card. Once it is there you could connect the BlackBerry to the laptop via USB. If Mass Storage mode is enabled the microSD memory card will show as a drive letter. You can then access the files off of it.
And, of course, once you are done editing them you can copy it back to the microSD memory card on the BlackBerry and then send it via your BlackBerry e-mail.
