bluetooth malfunction

Please my blackberry bold 9700 bluetooth aint working anymore. Can't send or receive files via it.
Help please!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:

  • Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
  • BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. If this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.

See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

 

If that doesn't help, then please provide additional details...from "aint working anymore", there is really no information from which to make any useful guesses. For example, what exact steps do you try? What exactly happens with each step? What changed between when it last worked and when it quit working? From what you've said, there's just too little information to guess anything useful.

Thanks for the suggestions but that doesn't do it.
When I turn the bluetooth ON, it will attempt to power on but later turn OFF on its own. If it manages to turn ON (very few times it has happened though) it won't be able to search for another BB device nor even connect with it!

And that answers only a little bit of what I asked above...please re-read that and provide the rest, including specifics (step by steps are quite useful) and details, especially any error messages that might be presented. And the "what changed" question I earlier asked is likewise key. Please re-review what I asked up there...
