Mute button is for the opponent, means if it is ON then the person at destination end would not be able to listen you.

Further, just check whether its a particular call issue or with all calls, if its with all calls then try to check by using earphone or use speaker phone to listen voice.

Are you able to listen Songs?

A battery pull, while device is powered ON & re-insertion after a min, may also help you.

Good luck

Re: bold 9630

As mentioned above try battery pull device reset. When you device is POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery. This make a reboot to your device which resolves minor issues with the BlackBerry device.

Re: bold 9630

hi. thanks for ur help. i did take the battery out while the phone was on. What did fix it, is going into the volume and changing it from loud to normal. the phone will now ring in normal setting. do u have any opinions as to how i can get the phone's volume to read as loud without clicking on the volume setting and changing it to loud?

Re: bold 9630

Hi Linda,

Seems you messed up with your "Loud" sound profile settings, because by default on the "Loud" profile all volumes are set to maximum.

In order to fix your "Loud" profile, (no idea what BlackBerry OS you use, but at least on OS7 is that waySmiley Happy

- click on the speaker icon
- change volume to "Loud"
- click the speaker icon again
- now click on "change sounds and settings"
- click "sounds for the selected profile"
- under "Phone - ringtones" click "Phone"
- click on "Volume" and set it to "10"
- finally press the return key on the keyboard and click to save the changes

I don't know if sound profiles could be changed with a short-cut key...
