browser is not working, please help

i have just bought a blackberry 8900 and i cant get the internet to work on it. i have read a few posts on here and have done what it has said but it still doesnt work. i have the bbm package and i now have bbm, facebook and twitter etc but when i go to browser and type something in it says 'unable to connect to the elected mobile data service'. also,  i dont have blackberry app world on here which i think its supposed to be? i have read if it is not on there then i will have to go on browser and download it that way but i cant because its not working  please

What is your device OS version ? Some Carrier do need some sort of data plan to browse Internet even over wifi , Are you sure have a data plan which allow access to your BlackBerry browse ? Can you try this KB regarding your problem :

 

KB11678 : Unable to browse to any websites on the BlackBerry smartphone. 

 

Are you able to browse Internet over an wifi network .
