can"t connect to Yahoo Messenger of Curve 8520

Have not been able to connect for the past couble of days!  have tried deleting and re-installing the app and still cannot connect.  All i get is a message which says: "Internal Error. Please try again later." and "Cannot connect to server".  I am able to browse the web though and use other instant messaging apps like whatsapp, viber and live messenger so can't figure this out!
