can't add bbm contacts (password denied)

Okay, I originally had a blackberry bold and my charging port broke. After 3 hours of on the phone with tech, I got my torch 9810 running. Last night I added all my old bbm contacts, 5 of them accepted. This morning, I woke up to 11 requests saying "the contact entered the wrong password information" or something like that.

All my security is off, and 5 other contacts added me, why can't I add the rest?

Please help! Thank you!

Unfortunately, without the exact and complete error message, it's a bit of a guessing game. I tried to look up based on what you reported, but could not find anything that seemed on point. Therefore, I recommend you go here:

and try searching on what you think the error message may have been and see if you can find anything that might be close to what you need.

Thanks for the question.

 

There is no password required to add any BBM contacts.  I would suggest adding these contacts again via PIN number or have them re-add you via PIN.

in BBM for OS5/OS6/OS7 it is possible to require a password to add a contact.
Just uncheck that option.

this option is located at :
home screen >> BlackBerry Messenger >> Menu >> Options >> Invitations to BBM >> Display Security Question on Invitations [ ]
