Unfortunately, without the exact and complete error message, it's a bit of a guessing game. I tried to look up based on what you reported, but could not find anything that seemed on point. Therefore, I recommend you go here:
and try searching on what you think the error message may have been and see if you can find anything that might be close to what you need.

There is no password required to add any BBM contacts. I would suggest adding these contacts again via PIN number or have them re-add you via PIN.
