on the home screen, when I open the menu, I have many icons. One of them is called 'Tasks'.

I looked everywhere, looked for hidden programs neither Tasks or Memos is on this bb.  Can it be reloaded from somewhere?

Re: can't find tasks on new blackberry 8320

I have looked under both of the locations you listed.  Tasks and memos are not listed.  Do I have any other options?

Thanks

Re: can't find tasks on new blackberry 8320

okay I am not sure, so don't get mad if what I say does not work : you will do the following things :

1) get the OS version on your device :
home screen >> options >> about
there is a number followed by another number in brackets. For example, I have 4.2.2.175.
it can be 4.3.X.X or 4.5.X.X.

2) download the USB drivers for blackberry 4.7 (top of this page : SOFTWARE. Then bottom of page on the right)
3) install them on your desktop
3) download the Desktop Manager 4.7 Without Media Manager (same place as 2) )
4) install the DM4.7
5) download the OS that matches 1) here : http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
it must be the OS for your 8320, the exact version.

6) install the OS on your PC.
7) launch the Desktop Manager, plug your device.
8) on the left of the Desktop Manager there is a section about installing things. Look if you see the Tasks application and the Memopad application.

I followed your directions exactly and everything works and tasks and memos are now on my BB.  Thanks for your hwlp.  There is a reason you are an expert.

Re: can't find tasks on new blackberry 8320

I know
It's good to be me.

But you have also taught me that those two applications are two applications, and not two core modules of the operating system like the Media Application or the Calendar application. It's a valuable information to me.

Thank you.
