cannot turn on my new torch 9860

I just got my new torch 9860 and cannot turn it on - I have on the screen a battery with a red cross ! does that mean that the battery is out of service ?

it seems that it doesn't reload / charge the battery !?

any advice ?

Welcome to the Suppport Community!

Have you tried charging with multiple cables and charging sources?

When you connect your BlackBerry to the computer, does the computer and the BlackBerry Desktop Software detect the device?

Are you able to test with another battery?

Many Thanks for your support and advices.

 

In the mean time I tested my battery with a multifunction electronic meter and the battery was faulty.

As it was an "in Service" first use of my BB I did proceed to an exchange.
