charge down - system slow

Hi,

Since i updated my os to 7.1, my handheld is getting too slow and also the charge is draining like anything. Not even works for half day. My device is just one year old.

Can anybody give me tell me how to switch to the older os? is there any other method to correct the problems?

Bye,

Re: charge down - system slow

Hi madhuvasudevan ,

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.

This KB article shows how you can downgrade your BlackBerry® Device Software to a previous version. "How to return to a previous version of BlackBerry Device Software" http://bbry.lv/Impoql

I would recommend first trying a clean reload of your current version of BlackBerry® Device Software to resolve this issue. These KB articles should help.

For Windows®: "How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows" http://bbry.lv/GI9beY
For Mac: "Perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer" http://bbry.lv/J0UN1U

Hope this helps.

On device go to Options, Device, Application Management is a great way to see what your apps are doing with your CPU usage on Smartphone. Just slide top bar to CPU and see what is going on. Also touch the CPU menu to see other time variables. I found out that an app was eating away CPU cycles on mine

Disable Compression on media card? go to Options, Device, Storage

using a custom theme? try it for a day the factory default one to rule out your theme

remember the esc key closes most apps, except for GPS and some chat clients. the other apps need to use menu and then exit or close. The farthest key to the right is a home key and does not close any apps per se but will end calls.
