When I switched from a Palm to my BlackBerry, I used Missing Sync. Synced my Palm to iCal and Address Book on the Mac with their Palm software and now use their BlackBerry software to sync my BlackBerry with the same iCal and Address Book data.

It can be done with free software, though not ideally in my opinion. Assuming you are syncing the Treo with Palm Desktop on the Mac. Within Palm Desktop Export the Contacts and Calendar as vcards and vcal, respectively. Then import the vcards in Address Book on the Mac and import the vcal file into iCal.
This methord works though category information from Palm Desktop is lost. Then install PocketMac and sync the BlackBerry to Address Book and iCal on the Mac.
What I did:
Download a demo of Missing Sync for Palm OS from here:
Synced Palm with iCal, Address Book and Mark/Space Notebook. Preserverd my category information and notes from Palm.
Bought Missing Sync for BlackBerry. Did an overwrite sync of the BlackBerry.
