delete downloads

I have found my BBs very easy to use, that is until now that I want to delete items.  Pretty much sorted out my e-mail problems although despite deleting e-mail accounts, I can't find a way to clear the old messages from the main messsage box apart from individually, which might take a year!

I now want to delete my downloads and can't find a way to do that either.

For context, I have to return a phone and want to clear it appropriately, either by removing items like downloads and messages that are personal, or by returning to factory settings.

Any help with this appreciated.

Cheers,

S

Re: delete downloads

Ah, simple fixes, a search of this forum would have found:

Message deletions can performed many ways:

a. highlight the first message and while holding down the shift key, scroll up or down to select as many adjacent messages as you like. Press the delete key (or menu > Delete).

b. Scroll to ANY date separator bar and press Menu > Delete Prior.

c. Scroll to the topmost recent date and press Menu > Delete Prior.

Now, to clear your device of ALLLLLLL messages, contacts, calendar and personal information, go to Options > Security > General Settings > press Menu > Wipe Handheld and follow the prompts.

On some devices, the route might be Options > Security > Wipe Handheld.

Good luck.

Re: delete downloads

Yes, I had to whip thing clear to get rid of the 3 frozzen Emails. It did as you said, it cleared out more then I thought, whitch was ok, being that I lost very little info. Next time I will save the stuff I want to keep on another Email, the whip. That way I have a back up.
