desktop manager is installed, but not working

I have installed and uninstalled the software 10 times today.    The desktop manager is loading and my computer is "seeing" my smartphone.  When the manager opens, none of the icons are active.   As such, when I cursor over the "synchronication" icon -- it highlights - -but links to nowhere.   I have downloaded the software from the CD that came with my phone AND I have downloaded it 4 times from online.

 

Desktop manager worked yesterday for my 8830 -- I had to get a new phone and now I can't retrieve any of my contacts!

 

Help! I am out of ideas!

Please specify the PC, the OS (if Vista 32 o r64 bit

What version of Outlook are you running .

What version of Desktop manager are you currently running?
