disabiling security password too

[ Edited ]

It appears I have the same problem as another here, but can't find the answer. I cannot disable my security password, it's grayed out. I have tryed pulling battery and rebooting but to no avail. Any ideas?

Bold 9700 version:v6.0.0.448, platform: 6.6.0.124

Thanks

Re: disabiling security password too

Where did you get this device from?

Is it your password on the device? Can you enter it to unlock?

Re: disabiling security password too

Hello, I got the phone at tmobile over 2 years ago. It is my password that I set up but now do not want to use a password as it's too slow that way. I changed from a contract to prepaid and also have unlocked the phone as I use it to travel.

Thanks

Re: disabiling security password too

Look at Options > Security > Information. Anything on that screen?

If you can't disable the password requirement, often it means you have a IT Policy on the device requring the password. Was this device ever connected to a corporate email account governed by your employer?
