downloading problems

My blackberry 8520 curve won't download anything. It starts at 523 bytes per second and then just fails. Even if I try to download really little 500kb files I still fails. How can I fix this?

That little black box with white arrow the the top right corner of the screen moves whenever I'm on regular sites like this, but as soon as I click on 'download' and 'save' that arrow disappears and downloading fails.

Any advice on how to get my phone to download again with its normal speeds?

Re: downloading problems

Download what, for instance, from where?

Like, downloading from AppWorld?

Re: downloading problems

If I download from any site, even app world too. But mainly if I try to download music from sites that I always downloaded it from. Or when I try to download videos. Games. Anything and everything.. And I never changed any setting on my phone

Re: downloading problems

OK, that's helpful, so this DID work correctly in the past.

  • Try this, open your Browser > Menu key > Options and clear the browser cache and history.
  • Then, Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
  • After reboot, try again.

Re: downloading problems

Great!

It always helps to post ALL of the pertinent information, what you've already tried, what works, didn't work, etc.

Re: downloading problems

Okay so I did all the steps and tried downloading now... It started with a downloading speed of 11kb/s but immediately stopped and "download failed" ... So I tried it immediately again and it started downloading at the speed of 1.7kb/s and failed after 3 minutes...

What is 'javascript'? Is it better disabled or should I keep it enabled?

I just wish the phone could work like it did the first day Smiley Happy

Could it be that an app I downloaded long ago could be causing this? I have a font manager app I downloaded months ago and everytime I reboot my phone it comes up just after the 'security verification' bar finished loading and it says that the app has expired and I should download a new version.

Will it work if I restore my phone's factory settings and completely format the phone?

Re: downloading problems

How/where are you constantly measuring the download speeds on your BlackBerry?
