email and contact list questions

I'm very new to BB.

I don't receive emails on my BB when my email is open on my PC.  Is this normal?

I also didn't receive a BB messanger contact list invitation on my BB while my email was open.

Also, how can I get my contact lisr from Outlook on to my BB?

Thanks!!

Re: email and contact list questions

#1, Adjust your Outlook settings to "leave mail on server". See details here:

http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Some_email_comes_to_my_BB_and_some_does_not

#2, Give your BB friends your PIN (Options > Status) and let them invite you that way.

#3, Use Desktop Manager > Sync.

Configure your Sync in Desktop Manager with Outlook, and you will be set to go.

Re: email and contact list questions

If you are using the Desktop Redirector and it's configured properly then no that is not normal and you should be receiving copies of your emails on your blackberry.

If it's not setup in this way and you are not on a Blackberry Enterprise Server at work then it sounds normal.
