Sometimes when I am home I notice that an email can take up to 12-15 minutes to make it to my Blackberry after it has made it to my laptop. Does this have anything to do with the frequency with which my Blackberry (an 8700c) checks for email, or is it just a variable in the system that I can't do anything about? If it is something I can set, where within the phone do I do that?
Any advice would be great. Thanks!

Email accounts that are set to use POP or IMAP are (typically) polled every 15 minutes. If a message is delivered then the account will be polled every 3 minutes after that for 5 cycles. If no further e-mails are found then it goes back to the 15 minute polling.
Some exceptions to this are Yahoo! and Gmail accounts, who offer instantaneous delivery.
