Do you have an active BlackBerry Data Plan / BIS on your account from your Carrier O2 .
Your device is Used device or a new one .

yeah i was having trouble with it on my other blackberry but i thought it was just cause there was no sim in it, the blackberry im now using is a used one it was on vodaphone but has been unlocked.

naba, use a SIM in which you have an active BIS subscribtion from your Carrier .

After purchasing that used device have you reset it to factory setting before using ?

Hey what you status Now ? Are you still having the problem ?
As I asked are you using a SIM card in which you have an active BlackBerry Data Plan / BIS from your Carrier O2 ?
On Manage Connection > Service Status > BlackBerry Internet Service = what is the ststus now ?
Please confirm it first .

Then first you should call or contact your Network Service Provider O2 to know if your SIM is properly configured with a Specific Data Plan or BIS which alllow those features on your device .
