forgotten password

Ever since I got my Blackberry Torch (about six months ago) I have not been able to set up apps or get many features it has to offer because a "bogus" username was set up by the folks who sold it to me and I don't know the password.  I was told to go on-line to blackberry.com and log in, indicate that I have forgotten my password, get a new one sent to me, then enter it into my phone.  I am stuck of Step 1 because when I sign on to www.blackberry.com, there is no place to log-in.  How do I set a new Blackberry password and put it into my phone so that I can use all the features of the phone?
