Re: help me format my memory card

I have now just realised that on options > storage, my memory card seems to keep uninstalling it self, so then I had nothing on my phone but then I had to connect the memory card again and then everything comes back onto it one by one!

Re: help me format my memory card

I posted before I saw your last post.  Its pretty strange.  Can you take this to the store so a tech can look at it?

Re: help me format my memory card

I took it in today, and they told me to delete everything using a computer/laptop instead of my phone so I have come home today and tried to do that, but it still isn't working! Also when I format from both my phone and a computer nothing changes, its not that folders are still there e.g. Pictures, music etc, its that all 1328 of my pictures are still in the folder?

Re: help me format my memory card

I cannot tell for sure...have you yet actually removed the card from the BB and used a PC card reader directly with the card (no BB involved)?

Re: help me format my memory card

No I don't have a card reader, I don't even know what a card reader is!

If you don't know what a card reader is, how on earth do you know if you have one or not? Confusing...

A card reader is a device, on your computer, with a slot that fits your media card, and can directly read your media card without the BB being involved. In Windows, it would present it to you as another drive letter. But, you have to have the slot or external device on your computer so as to directly attach the card. Many newer computers have such slots built in...look around for an SD card reader slot. The problem you might have is if the slot on your PC is for standard SD...the BB card is either mini or micro SD, and requires an adapter to then fit into the PC slot.

Good luck!

Re: help me format my memory card

Gotcha.  After the format is complete, no folders will be on the card.  Please verify that from the computer.

Re: help me format my memory card

Yeah, I thought that's what a card reader was so I assumed I didn't have one, I have an ordinary SD card size card reader and the blackberry memory card is mini so it doesn't fit!
