Im sorry you didnt have any luck with that. When i did it it also said it had failed but then it said i needed to reboot and when i had rebooted the facebook icon was there and the old facebook was installed. I had the problem you had a few months ago and i couldnt find my facebook icon, but i phoned my network and they talked me through the problem. Have you tried ""Show All" in your applications when you installed the old version? Or "Hide"? It is so frustrating!! I would try it again, then battery out and back in, then reboot. But failing that, hopefully someone on this board can help you find your icon. Sorry i cant be more help.
