In Outlook, it's called Notes.

Re: how do you move your memo files to your computer

Hi, I do not own outlook and cannot find a way to legally download for free.

In addition, the desktop manager configurement options you referenced previously seem to have changed in the lastest version...

Could you help me out? desperately looking for a way to save my memo's to a pc.

Correct, Outlook is not a free program.

Where are you memos currently stored?

Re: how do you move your memo files to your computer

Currently stored on my blackberry curve 8520. From what I have read, they are stored on the device memory within the application memopad (just the standard one blackberry phones come with).

I have backed them up on my computer as a .bbb file (attempted to extract from this using a 3rd party program and ended up with a virus... had to restore my pc)...

I have over 100 memos so emailing 1 by 1 would be very slow. (and I don't actually have internet access under my current provider anyway...)

Re: how do you move your memo files to your computer

your best bet is get a copy of Outlook. No, it's not free.

Secondly, there are a couple of options for extracting and viewing data from a the backup files.

1. The IPD Parse macro is designed to read a Blackberry IPD file and create reports in MSWord or MSExcel. It is free, and you can find out more here: https://sites.google.com/site/ipdparse/home
For .bbb backup files, use this macro to extract seven "primary" IPD files (Address Book, Calendar, SMS Messages, Tasks, Memos, PIN Messages and Phone Call Logs)
IPD bbb Extract macro https://sites.google.com/site/ipdbbbextract
These IPD files can subsequently be used as inputs to the other macro, IPD Parse, to produce reports.

2. Another options is MagicBerry from MenaStep... which extract from a backup IPD or BBB file, split IPD files, etc. http://menastep.com/pages/magicberry.php

3. Another IPD and BBB file utility is BlackBerry Backup Extractor, and is available for PC and Mac, and can be found here: http://www.blackberryconverter.com/ There is a free and paid version.

Re: how do you move your memo files to your computer

I do NOT recommend anyone tries blackberryconverter it comes bundled with a bunch of malware that messed up my chrome browser, changed my homepage (without confirmation) and set up some kind of upload tracker.... just don't do it.

Menastep requires registering & confirmation, been waiting for 3 days so far....

I will try out the IPD stuff...

Thankyou for your correspondance! (I would never have used memo's if I knew how awkward transfer was!!!)

Re: how do you move your memo files to your computer

Did you try using the IPDparse method? If so how did it work out?
