Your carrier is whoever you pay every month for your mobile services. You listed "Sun Cellular" in your profile, so is that who provides you with your voice and data services on your BB?

So basically this means my Phone network? I have a prepaid plan with SunCellular, so my carrier is SunCell right?

Yup. Your carrier is responsible for delivering all services to you...voice, data, and BB-proprietary (if they are capable of that).

Re: how to know the carrier for my 9700 device?

Well, that depends on exactly what you mean by "change network". If you mean you drop Sun Cellular for some other provider, then yes your carrier changes (Mobile Service Provider = carrier). ALL of your services -- voice, data, and BB-proprietary -- come from the same carrier...you cannot receive one part of your services from one carrier and a different part from a different carrier. ALL services to your BB come from the same place...your carrier.
