how to save a number during a call

If I'm making a call on my blackberry 8900, and the person on the phone gives a phone number which I then dial into the phone. When my call is finshed that number dissapears How can I keep that number ? In all my previous phones, that number is displayed on screen, so I can then save or ring. Can the Blackberry do this simple opperation?

Re: how to save a number during a call

Sorry, this is not solved, I think you may have misunderstood my problem

I am speaking to someone on the phone, and they tell me a phone number, on pretty much every other mobile phone, you can type this number into the phone, mid call, and save / ring that entered number after the original call finishes.

When I enter the number, mid call on the BB8900, the number is displayed on screen, however when the original call ends, the entered number disappears.

The number entered mid call does not appear in the call log.

Thanks

Re: how to save a number during a call

Try this:  while on call  go to contacts.  It will prompt you to continue call or not.  add contact> fill in name and number and save.
