i tried installing blackberry messenger 5.0 and deleted ...

i tried installing blackberry messenger 5.0 and deleted my old one even though it still says it in the application. now i have neither of the old or new. ive deleted the old one since i cant find it on my phone and tried to install new bbm. it continues to say it has limited memory even though i have deleted many applications including the old bbm, yellow pages, brick breaker and very many themes. any reason why it saying theres not enough memory even though status location says i have more than enough?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

If that does not work, then please return to these forums (http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/) and register an account so that we can provide you with direct assistance.

Cheers!Best!

Re: i tried installing blackberry messenger 5.0 and deleted ...

If someone knows how to fix this please post... I am having the same problem. I tried downloading the new BBM and when I did it deleted my BBM completely. It still, however, shows in my app world as being installed. I have tried taking the battery out twice and just a simple shut down of my phone twice, and it still has not reappeared. If I go to App World and click on BlackBerry Messenger it simply says "Loading" for a really long time but doesn't do anything. Please help! I love BBM and would love to use it again.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Clearing the application cache may help:

1. Open App World

2. Go to My World

3a. For keyboard-based BB's -- Hold down the ALT key and then press, in sequence R, then S, then T

3b. For Storm/Pearl -- Hold the num-lock (!?123) button so it locks and then press, in sequence 3, then 4, then (

4a. If your BB locks after issuing the cache clear, perform a battery pull reboot

Hopefully it'll work for you! Good luck and let us know!
