Recently when I use BB Desktop to synch with my new MacBook, it wants to add 2, modify 482 and delete 1053. The first 2 are not a problem but I do not want to delete old iCal entries.
I've tried adjusting to synch only Future or synch between -999 and +999 days to no avail.
What work around can I use to get back to synching?

thank you for bringing up this topic. i was just about to start the same thread.
Why would the software delete my old iCal entries. Ridicules.
Please fix that guys!

What I have done is select that I replace all items and choose the 999 days before to 999 days after option.
It still seems strange that I can not easily keep ALL past meetings on my BB for use when out of the office.

This helped me for this problem...
On your BlackBerry, go to the Calendar, then press the Menu button, and select Options. Do you have a settings that says "Keep Appointments" set for a specified time.
If yes, you will need to change that to forever.
Once I changed that, I did an overwrite sync of the BlackBerry (I use Missing Sync). Then normal syncing worked fine without deleting old events.

Great advice. I already had mine set to "forever" but an update to the Blackberry Desktop Manager caused the same problem to occur regardless of the "forever" setting. However your idea of doing a total overwrite worked perfectly!!! Thanks again!

Oh my lord....THANK YOU!!!!!!! I have been going nuts about this for months.
I had no idea that option "keep forever" exisited. Every time we tried to sync "All Events" it would (thankfully) warn about deleting nearly 1,000 events. WIth much trepidation I chnaged the settings on the BB - and then I created two test events (one on each platform) and did a 2-way sync. Both effortlessly appeared on the opposite calendar and no warnings or alerts...and everything else stayed put.
