icon on home screen - yellow globe

I have only had my Blackberry for a few days but an icon appeared on it earlier today has which is exactly where new SMS and email notifications appear. It is a yellow globe like the browser icon and has a '1' next to it. I do not know what this means and would appreciate any help in finding out how to get rid of it and/or opening whatever it is symbolising.

Thanks, caroline.

Re: icon on home screen - yellow globe

A yellow globe.... open your main messages folder and click the Menu key (left of the trackball) to VIEW FOLDERS.

Look first in WAP messages, and clear or open any messages there.

If not there, check browser messages too.

to you messages (text) press the Blackberry icon on keypad. Select "View Folder" scroll down to WAP push messages...... it will be in there as an unread message, just delete.   WAP Push messages are usually just SPAM with a link to a web site.
