incoming calls ringing time issue

I've been searching for any info regarding the possibility of lenghtening the time the phone will ring before the caller is cut off.

My phone will vibrate twice and ring twice and then cut the caller off.

I find this frustrating cause if you happen to be at a distsnce from the phone the vibration is useless and in two rings

you have no chance of getting there the result having to make your call back to caller!!!

Any help for this problem from anybody out there?

Hi and welcome to the forums!


You can increase the amount of time before the call goes to VM

by calling your carrier. The lenght of time varies by carrier.

Try the follwoing GSM string : 


*61*[Phone Number]*11*[Time]#


In place of phone number put in your voice mail box number (call your carrier to know that) and in place of time put any value i.e. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30. These values are seconds after which your calls will be diverted/forwarded to voice mail. Setting a higher value will meet your query.


This string is applicable GSM carriers only.

To clarify, do you edit your voice mail field in PHONE / OPTIONS / VOICE MAIL?
