keyboard lighting

Hey everyone,

I just got a new BB Pearl and love it, but I have noticed that sometimes the keyboard doesn't light up when I'm using the phone. Is there any way to make the keyboard light up everytime I am typing?

Re: keyboard lighting

This is due to light sensitivity sensor. Hold you BB in the dark...keyboard lights sure to glow.

Yes, well on the Curve it does; I'm assuming the Pearl would be the same.

Re: keyboard lighting

Yes, it does apply to the screen lighting as well on the Pearls, Curves, all 88XX series..

Go to OPTIONS, SCREEN/KEYBOARD and then toggle Auto Dim Backlight to the off position.  You keyboard will stay on for the time you have set in seconds for it to stay on, NO MORE DIMMING.

The brightness of the screen is also controlled by adjsuting it on the same screen under SCREEN BIGHTNESS

Re: keyboard lighting

That's correct Gregebhart.  I finally got tired of the auto lighting function and set it to manual.  They need to improve that auto function because it just doesn't work all that well.  Take care.

Re: keyboard lighting

Is there a way to turn off just the keyboard light?
