keypad and trackball not working

i have a blackberry bold 8520 and it was fine and then the key pad and trackball stopped working, ive looked on the other posts similar to this one but they all say about doing it via your computer so i tried that but i have a pass word on my phone so thats not possable as i can not type my password in to allow access. my phone is not under warranty. any ideas?

Hello chloe124 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

 

When you connect your BlackBerry to your computer, you would enter your password using your computer's keyboard.

 

If you used numbers on your device, did you hold ALT each time? If not, your password would be the corresponding letters (for example if you used 2468 on your device but didn't hold ALT the computer would recognize the password as esfx).

 

Hope this helps with the computer connection.

 

If you are able to do the software load but the keyboard and trackpad aren't functioning you would need to contact your point of sale for hardware repair options.
