I lost my blackberry phone when I was out of town about 2 weeks ago. It was locked by password and I reported it lost to my mobile carrier. Will anyone be able to hack into the phone and see my personal documents, memos, photos, etc? To make matters worse, the phone was completely dead when I lost it. I activated a new phone in replacement of the blackberry.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
One of the hallmarks of BB's is security. Since you activated the device lock password, when someone enters the password wrongly too many times, your BB will dutifully wipe itself clean of all of your data.

I dnt wanna make u worried bt the data and the PIN in BB mobiles cas easily be wiped off or can be retrived even if the BB is password secured...
coz personally have seen second hand or lost BB mobile phones r being sold whose PINs have been changed...so, i guess if PIN can be changed, then for those people ulocking the data wud be a child's play...

I disagree with the term "easily". If some unscrupulous character has some illegally obtained software, then yes they can do many things. But, by and large, such is not widely available, and the security protections of the BB remain intact.
And, I agree with your disagree.
