<Content Protection is enabled>

Hi there,

I did a quick search, and found a few similar problems, but not of the possible solutions on the threads that I found seemed to work, so I thought I'd start a new topic, in hope that someone can help me, in any way possible.

So basically, caller ID stopped worked when my phone was locked (it worked before). I also noticed that when I received messages or anything, it would not come up the name, and started coming up with just the number (this too used to work before - it would also show the contacts name). So I went into my contacts, and randomly looked up one, and the email address has "<Content Protection is enabled>" next to it. I looked through a few more contacts and this was the case with all of them.

After doing a few searches, a lot of possible fixes were tried, but did not work. Here's what I've tried:

  - Going into security options and ensuring I don't include address book in content protection, and then doing   a battery        pull

  - Turning off content protection altogether and then doing a battery pull

  - Turning it back on, battery pulling, and turning it off again, and battery pulling once more.

Nothing has worked so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Ravi

What do you mean by "when my phone was locked"?

Is your device on a corporate BES account, with an IT Policy?

Look at Options > Security > Information. What is listed there?

Re: <Content Protection is enabled>

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. By locked, I meant that my phone put in the holster, locked, so I couldn't make calls or anything without typing my password in.

I don't know what a BES account is, but I am just using the phone for personal use, bought it myself, and have no affiliation with any sort of company or IT policy. Also, "Options > Security" or "Options > Security Options > information" does not exist on my phone.

Any ideas?

Yea, keep looking. One or the other option will be there to check for the IT Policy.

Re: <Content Protection is enabled>

It says:

WLM 2.1 [WLMEU01] (AES)

I have no idea what that means. Does that help you at all?

Re: <Content Protection is enabled>

Nonono...a section, on that screen, that says anything at all about "IT Policy"...anything anywhere on that screen that says anything like that?

Re: <Content Protection is enabled>

Oh okay, sorry. Looking under Options > Security Options > General Settings, there is nothing, anywhere at all on the screen, that says anything about an IT Policy, no.

Re: <Content Protection is enabled>

Ok, so try this for now.

Options > Security > General Settings > Password.

Disable the password for just now and let's see if that removes the content protection from the contacts.

Any luck?
