Generally you can't do much as it updates over the Server , As you had not mentioned what you already tried , So you can try Delete and re-install the same to see if that help . To do that if you are using BBM7 then you contacts are stored with your BlackBerry ID but if your are having any previous version then first do a local backup maybe on your Media Card .
Once backup is done On your Homescreen Go to Options > Device Application Management > Locate and delete BlackBerry Messenger from there. After deleting do a Battery Pull Restart like this device POWERED ON remove the battery wait a min. then re-insert it back .
After reboot from your BlackBerry Browser browse to www.blackberry.com/bbm and the recent version available for your device. Try it and see if it helps.

This issue currently seems to be resolved , Have you tried to reinstall BlackBerry Messenger ?
Are you able to use other BB application without any issue .
