First download : blackberry desktop manager then install
Next : download to download OS update for your country and telco
Next : install every thing
Next : connect your phone to PC / Laptop
Next : Restore handset

its now downloading would i have to have my sim card in there?

Yes, You need to insert your simcard in your Device since it will configure your country and Telco

Sure Smiley Happy im glad that I have helped you, in some case that it wont work after successful update/reinstall , you can go to your service provider so that they could check on your device if it a hardware malfunction

thanks ever soo much:') my mouse seems to be working atm, but i'll still do it anyway
