my phone wont turn on but the red light flashes

i was installing the update for blackberry app world when it was done i turned off my phone now it wont turn on but a red light flashes for about 15 seconds then goes off i plugged it in to my computer and it doesn't show up and charging it doesn't help either

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

 

Leave it to charge, powered off, for 2 hours. Try again. Watch the screen closely for any error codes or messages.

 

Sadly, it sounds like perhaps something went wrong during the update and the BB is now a brick that will require some recovery actions. But let's see again after a couple of hours of attempted charging have passed.

well ive been charging for two hours and it is still the same

OK then...one more thing to try before we declare the BB itself toast (and, thereby, your data on it already lost). A different battery. Perhaps your battery went bad somehow. I suggest you find a different (already fully charged) battery to use and see if the BB functions. Sometimes the folks in your carriers cell phone shop will help with that.
