need to reinstall BB Messenger on 8900

[ Edited ]
I need to reinstall the blackberry messenger app on my 8900. I get this message ever time I try to download - " BlackBerry Messenger for Software Versions 4.0 and 4.1 Downloads via a USB connection are not enabled for this product. Please visit our mobile download site at using the browser on your BlackBerry® smartphone." I did not buy a $600 phone to deal with this. help please.

well did you try and do what the message tells you to ? that is :
  1. take your 8900
  2. use the BlackBerry browser
  3. go to http://mobile.blackberry.com/
  4. select BlackBerry Messenger
  5. download & install with one click

I tried the blackberry mobile site, but the BBM was not an option. When i did search and find it, i recieved hte message that it was not compatible with my 8900. I also tried using the device manager's re-install function, however, Blackberry messenger was no an option to add.

hello,

to install BlackBerry Messenger, the easiest is to install a full OS, and before the install make sure that BlackBerry Messenger is checked. Please read here if you need support on that operation :
