os 7.1 and media errors

i updated my phone to the 7.1 and podcast was missing.  i reinstalled and i get media errors when trying to play anything and when it happens all sounds are gone.  i.e. ringtone my phone wont ring. etc and i have to do a hard reset to get the sound back it will work for a while and i wont know that it isnt working till i look at phone and see that i have missed calles. 


this happend with 2 curve 8380 not have bold 9900 thiunging issue was with phone not os.  up graded and didnt install the podcast app and am now still getting media errors . 


is there any help out there dont think carries is going to continue to replace phones Smiley Sad argg!!!!
