# rings prior to Voicemail pickup

How do I change the number of times the phone rings before it deverts the incoming call to Voicemail?  Mine only rings twice & I sometimes don't get the BB out of its holster in time.

Re: # rings prior to Voicemail pickup

Check the follwoing -

GSM string: *61*[Phone Number]*11*[Time]#

In place of phone number put in your voice mail box number (call your carrier to know that) and in place of time put any value i.e. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30. These values are seconds after which your calls will be diverted/forwarded to voice mail. Setting a higher value will meet your query.

This string is applicable GSM carriers only.

Where do I find the "GSM string" that tanzim refers to in my 8820 menu?

Re: # rings prior to Voicemail pickup

Hi,

The GSM sting is not in the device, press green key, options voicemail.

Instead of putting in the number of YOUR phone you put in the number of your VOICEMAIL box.

Refer to Tanzimz's  procedure .

Thanks
