Re: security wipe with no bis - bbm

Yes, the Security Wipe would have deleted ALL personal information, preferences, accounts, mail, messages, calendar, contacts, etc., from the device.

Re: security wipe with no bis - bbm

[ Edited ]

i hope you dont mind me asking one very final question...when the new owner puts there BIS on the phone and has service they wont recieve any my emails or old BBm requests ect like they will automatically re-appear when the phone gets internet service..will they as when i wiped the device it wasnt connected to the servers as i hadnt got a sim card activted in it or a wifi signal so nothing could of gone through the "RIM Servers" so to speak. Just wondered if once the new owner gets data then they wont get a back log of my things even though i wiped the device because of the lack of BIS when i performed the wipe.

thanks alot

Re: security wipe with no bis - bbm

No, they will not.

Because... they will login with their own BlackBerryID, they will set up their own email accounts, etc.

You have WIPED your device of all service books associated with your email accounts, and you have removed your device from your Vodafone account.

There's no backlog of anything.

Re: security wipe with no bis - bbm

Sure, it's a good idea to call Vodafone and confirm that your PIN has been released from your account. Tell them you are selling or giving the device to a friend who will want to use it on their account... just that the PIN/IMEI is released from your previous account.

Re: security wipe with no bis - bbm

i spoke to them and they have said that they never register the pin of the customer and they only provide the BIS for the device and once the BIS has been deactivated after changing the tariff then that is enough for the new user to use the phone freely as there own. Does this make sense? To be honest ive never "released a pin" when selling older blackberrys and havent had a problem so i think i should be fine.

Re: security wipe with no bis - bbm

Yes, that makes sense. In most cases it is an automatic process.
