sim card for 9900

Hello, I am wondering if the Blackberry Bold 9900 uses the same sim card as the 9000?

Thanks, Mark

Re: sim card for 9900

In general yes (same size, etc.) but specifically, since SIM card technology has been updated continuously over the past five years since the 9000 was released, you should ask your mobile provider for NEW SIM card if you are moving from a 9000 to a 9900. It's just wise. The 9900 is 3G, the 9000 was not.

Re: sim card for 9900

Thank you for the information. My track ball finally bit the dust on my 9000 and I was going to replace it with a 9900. I just wanted to swap the sim card over quick and dirty for now. I can always take the time later and use the DM software to do a transfer all information and files correct??

Re: sim card for 9900

Yes, that's fine doing it that way.

You're better off.. much cleaner and smoother using the Desktop Software switch Device wizard first though. But either way will get the job done.
